GC Solicitors is a practice dealing with civil and criminal litigation; our areas of expertise include family/divorce, public child care law, personal injury, crime, motoring offences and transport regulatory law. The firm holds a Legal Aid Franchise in the areas of Family Law and Criminal Law. We also work closely with the Police Federation in Hertfordshire and have a proud track record of representing police officers in both criminal and misconduct hearings.
GC Solicitors employs fully qualified solicitors, benefitting our clients as all solicitors are subject to strict rules of professional conduct and must hold compulsory indemnity insurance to ensure that clients will be fully compensated if an error does occur. Many clients are not aware of the dangers of instructing unqualified legal representatives who do not hold such insurance.
We have an office in Letchworth with dedicated staff consisting of seven solicitors, including two Partners and seven support staff. Ben Singh is the Managing Partner and deals with the daily management of the firm, whilst Jim Hennessey is the Head of the Criminal Department, the Personnel Partner, and a full time fee earner, helping to oversee the management of the firm.
GC Solicitors aim is to provide quality services to its clients, combining traditional values with a modern approach. We aim to provide a professional service to our clients in a timely and cost effective manner. To that end, all our solicitors can be accessed directly via email, offering support to all our clients. We can also arrange meetings, working around our clients at a time that suits them, if necessary in the evening or at the weekend. We also offer home visits in appropriate cases if clients cannot make it to the office.
The company holds a SQM certificate, which has been recently renewed after a successful audit (July 2015) by the SQM Delivery Partnership (National Auditing Body appointed by the Legal Aid Agency). All solicitors who have an LAA contract must go through an SQM audit once every three years to ensure they comply with all the standards set by the LAA.
Through our business plan, GC Solicitors strives to focus on and develop its strengths, identify areas of improvement and cultivate new areas of operation. GC Solicitors also wishes to enhance the career development of staff members through training, thereby continually improving the quality of services we offer our clients.
Our intention is to become a limited company by the new financial year end of 2016.
GC Solicitors, in its current form, came into fruition on 1st November 2013. However, the partners and their colleagues have represented members of the local community since the early 1990s and as a result have worked as a team for more than 20 years.
